5 held over rape of teen RMG worker

Narayanganj police yesterday arrested five people for raping a woman in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj. All five confessed to the crime, police said. On Saturday morning, the victim, an 18-year old girl who works at a readymade garment factory, filed a case accusing the five youths. The accused were picked up during drives in Poshchimpara area of Pitalganj on the same day, said Emdadul Haque, inspector (investigation) of Rupganj police station. The arrestees are Rasel Mian, 21, Ahik Mian, 20, Shakil Mian, 22, Samchu Dohai, 27, and Sher Ali, 20.
