OP-ED: The world of tomorrow will look very different from the world of today

What would the world look like with less fossil fuel consumption? If you’re reading this, you are probably concerned about climate change, and understand that fossil fuels must be phased out. Many climate activists think that if they protest long and hard enough, governments will simply replace fossil fuel power plants with wind and solar power. They are sadly mistaken; most governments will not do this.Wind and solar power installations generate power about 30% of the time; the sun doesn’t shine at night, and the wind does not blow every day.
