ED: They take care of us, so let’s take care of them

It does little good to praise our nurses, if actions and compensation do not reflect our appreciation Health care workers have been hailed as frontline heroes in the battle against Covid-19 since the pandemic was declared last March. Doctors, nurses, and other health professionals have worked round the clock, putting their own lives on the line for the sake of public health.

It is a matter of great regret, then, that we have not been fairly compensating our nurses who arguably put in the most hours towards patient care, and were most directly exposed to health risks.
