The importance of being Bengali
Central Park is very close to a location I visit in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Due to my passion for running in the mornings, I often go to this beautiful paradise park at dawn if I visit Kolkata. One morning, after coming back from the park, I overheard the exchange of greetings of the morning walkers and those sitting on the bench of the park. From what I could gather, they were lamenting the fact that Bengalis had a hectic lifestyle that left no room for the indulgence of a jogging habit. 

In another conversation with a friend, the Modi government at the centre came to power for a second term. Looking at the trend of West Bengal, it seems that the BJP has built popularity here as well. What is the reason for the rise of the BJP in West Bengal? He was frustrated that Bengal hadn’t been able to keep up with the pace of industrialization that has happened in Gujarat, and therefore had no political clout.
