Release detained refugees: rights body to Malaysia

Regional rights body 'Fortify Rights' has called for Malaysia to release detained refugees and prevent arbitrary detention of new arrivals to minimise health risks due to Covid-19. "Malaysia should take extra precautions now to protect the rights of refugees and refrain from detaining them," said Matthew Smith, chief executive officer of Fortify Rights, in a statement today.
