Violent events in the Rakhine State of Myanmar, starting in August 2017, led to the displacement of 615’000 Rohingya men, women, and children towards Cox’s Bazar district in Bangladesh. The mass and speed of the displacement created an acute humanitarian crisis. People arrived with very little belongings and all basic needs are to be met. Beyond water, sanitation, shelter, food, and health, protection is an important issue to address notably when it comes to children: they potentially suffered the most from the dramatic events which happened in Myanmar and during the cross border journey to Bangladesh.
