The brother of an Awami League councillor candidate was hacked to death by rivals in Jhenidah's Shailakupa upazila last night. The deceased was identified as Boltu Hossain, 50, younger brother of Shawkat Hossain, councillor candidate for ward 8 in the upcoming Shailakupa municipality election, said Jahangir Alam, officer-in-charge of Shailakupa Police Station.
