Onion price drops to Tk 30 per kg in Dhaka

The price of onion has come down to Tk 30 per kilogramme in retail markets of Dhaka due to falling demand amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The fall comes after eight months at a time when most restaurants are closed. Onion prices shot up to Tk 280 to Tk 300 last November in the kitchen markets due to a supply crunch after the Indian government banned the export of onions to
