UK immigration rules for Hong Kong citizens will change if China passes security law
Britain will not walk away from the people of Hong Kong if China imposes a national security law that would conflict with its international obligations under a 1984 accord, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said today. Johnson said Britain will change its immigration rules offering millions of people in Hong Kong "a route to citizenship" if China imposes new security laws.
